Giveaway! Signed Book + Fall Candle

Would you love to cozy up with a signed copy of “Have Yourself a Minimalist Christmas” while enjoying the aroma of fall? Then enter our giveaway for a chance to receive this perfect combo for free!

I’ve partnered with Homebody Goods to give away three candles from their Fall Collection (with scents such as Pumpkin & Clove, Autumn, Spiced Apple, & Flannel) with three signed paperback copies of my book which is intended to be read in the fall months leading up to the winter holidays.

I was so excited to stumble upon Homebody Goods because they were precisely what I was searching for myself: A hand-poured candle made of pure soy wax with wooden wicks and –most importantly– using phthalate-free fragrances blended with pure essential oils. They are made at the home studio of Logan & Lindsey Archer in North Berwick, Maine.

Without getting on a preachy soapbox, I will say that we stopped using traditional candles in our home after I learned of the toxicity in the fragrances and ingredients that most big-box candle companies use. We switched to a diffuser for essential oils to eliminate that, but I have been craving the flicker of an actual candle so badly! I heard that there were alternatives for safe candles and was delighted to find Homebody!

I also love that their signature glass vessels are etched whiskey glasses that can be reused for years to come. When you read “Have Yourself a Minimalist Christmas,” you’ll learn that sustainability and intentionality are two main values of mine. Homebody ticked off all of my boxes for what I look for in a product and this is one utilitarian tool that will also bring simple beauty and a delightful aroma that will “spark joy” in my minimalist home. I don’t want to ever give away clutter…I wanted to give away something you can use that will also bring a smile each time.

We will pick three winners on October 6th and announce them on October 7th!

I hope you enjoy my book which delves into a variety of topics that will help you get in a healthy mindset before the chaos of the holidays arrive. I discuss the consumerist origins of the Christmas holiday and the Big Business behind the marketing that swirls around us each fall urging us to fill our homes and our friends’ and family’s homes with truckloads of unnecessary gifts. Simply having an awareness of how this is manipulating our minds and wallets can help you shed those urges to “Add to Cart.” I then discuss how to simplify your decorating and how to curate, declutter and prep your home for a stress-free holiday. I discuss how to elegantly decline event invitations and how to select the events and items that will bring value to your home. Presence and togetherness is the ultimate goal.

Even if you do not become the ultimate winner of this fall bundle, I hope you consider giving this book a read or listen, as it is available in print, ebook and audiobook. Pass it along to a friend and spread this message that I truly believe is needed in the world–especially in 2020 when everyone is scaling back and settling into a slower pace at home.

I look forward to staying in touch with you!

Note: When you enter this giveaway, you’ll be joining my email list as well as Homebody’s list. We promise not to ever spam you but to occasionally reach out to you if we have particularly exciting or interesting news we think you would enjoy. You may opt out at any time, of course.

If you would like to have an extra entry, tag a friend on our Instagram accounts under one of the Giveaway Posts. You can find us at @minimalist_christmas or @thehomebodygoods. On October 6th at noon, I will collect all of the email addresses and your Instagram handle if you tagged someone, and draw three names at random to select a winner!

p.s. I was sent a sample of their “Evergreen” candle for the winter collection and it is divine! Stay tuned!
